Arnold Diaz, an impassioned investigative reporter at three television stations in New York City, passed away on October 24 in Greenwich, Conn. He was 74 years old. The cause of his death was multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. Mr. Diaz was known for his relentless pursuit of con artists, scammers, and others who cheated consumers. He not only aimed to help resolve victims’ issues, but also to expose and embarrass wrongdoers for their actions. His investigations, such as “Shame on You,” brought attention to cases of fraud and unethical practices and gave a voice to those whose complaints were often ignored. Mr. Diaz’s work earned him numerous New York Emmy Awards, and he left a lasting impact on consumer advocacy journalism.
